SigmaStudio - severe problems with big files?
We are currently working on a project where we using three Sigma350 processors in one device. Unfortunately we are experiencing severe problems with such complex setups built with SigmaStudio. Once I have created a dspproj-file and reopen it at a later date, it is not possible to add additional modules without getting a severe failure. If I do a right mouse click on the new added element e.g. for configuring it) the error message shown in the attached sreenshot appears.
If I simply copy & paste an element that is already in the signal flow, I don't get any error message.
We are using SigmaStudio Rev4.1 but this happens as well with 4.0. Besides that we have tested it with different PC's with the same annoying result.
Any explanation for this? Does SigmaSudio have a problem with extensive signal flows in combination with multiple DSP's?
So far we have done a lot of projects with one single Sigma300 processor and haven't been faced with problems like this.

Robin
P.S.: I can provide the complete dspprj-file (11.7 MB) if necessary
Hi Robin:
We apologize for this. What comes to mind without looking at the schematics and error in detail is that you might be running low on memory on the PC. Big schematics instantiate large User Interfaces and sometimes cause memory to be consumed at a rapid pace.
IF this is the case, would it be possible to separate all 3 DSP schematics and avoid the need to instantiate them all at once.
In the mean time, we'll be reaching out to you for you to send us your schematic privately so that we can narrow down the source of the problem.
Thank you
Miguel
Hi Miguel,
thanks for the fast feedback, but I have my doubts that the PC memory could be the problem. At first I assumed a lack of memory as well, but even if I remove most of the modules from the 3-DSP schematic the error still occurs...

Robin
