I have a ADSP-21469 custom board that is designed to boot over the LINK ports in normal operation. I have board test code that I can run from CCES (using the HPUSB-ICE) that I use to check out the boards.

As we move into production quantities, I would like to be able to have the technicians testing the boards run this code to verify that the boards function. I would prefer not to have to set up these technicians with a full installation of CCES.

Is there some sort of command line tool that would download and run my test code over JTAG?

Initially, I though that the CLDP was not the way to go because I wasn't trying to program FLASH on my board (I don't have any).

After playing around with CLDP, I was able to trick it into loading a simple LED blink program and running it. I did this by telling CLDP that the program I want to run is the driver.

cldp -proc ADSP-21469 -emu HPUSB-ICE -driver Blink.dxe -cmd info

I got a response that the driver failed to load, but my board began flashing lights as it should.

It seems that I have to attempt to execute one of the device programmer commands before anything will happen.

Is clpd.exe a stand-alone program, or does it need CCES to be installed as well?

My goal is to be able to set up the technicians testing my boards with a way of running test programs without needing to install CCES and purchase multiple licenses.

As mentioned in the FAQ pointed to above, as of CCES 2.8.x, the Command Line Device Programmer (CLDP) no longer requires a license, however, a full CCES install is still needed in order to use the CLDP.
