In wiki 8.24 format heve some different number of bytes.
Its from wiki 8.24
1111 1110 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 = -0.25
28 bit in example
0000 0000 1000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 = 2^23 - 1 LSB = 0dBFS
Its from representation.
Alex,
In the word:
1111 1110 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 = -0.25
...there is one nibble missing from the front (there are seven shown instead of 8). The correct value is:
1111 1111 1110 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 = -0.25
This puts 8 bits to the left of the binary point and 24 bits after (8.24). Note that the number is in 2's complement format, so the number is sign extended. i have fixed the wiki page.
