Hi,

I may have found a bug in SigmaStudio, I am using version 4.1

My Main sheet has 4 Heirarchy Boards (blocks), and each of these has 8 Heirarchy Boards (channels), so 32 channels in total. I did this because it was convenience and quicker to design 1 x 8 channel block first and then copy/paste the block a further 3 times.

At one point I realised that I had made a mistake in the basic channel design so I deleted one of the Heirarchy Boards from the Main Sheet, after a few seconds it seemed that it had completed and the "block" had gone from my Main Sheet, but there were still some of the 2nd level Heirarchy Boards (channels) showing in the line across the bottom of the design window. I clicked on one of them and it showed a sheet with some components still in it. Unsure of how to delete this spurious sheet, I saved the design as a temporary file, exited SigmaStudio, re-ran it and tried to load the temp file but was told that it was corrupted.

Unfortunately I have overwritten the corrupted file so I can't send it to you as an example, when I have time I will try it again and see what happens.

There is a work-around; delete the 2nd level Heirarchy Boards first and then delete the Heirarchy Board from the Main sheet, seems to work OK.

PS: while doing this, I noticed you can't copy/paste alias connections. Is there a fundamental reason why this can't be done ? if not can I suggest it as an improvement for the next version as it would have saved me a lot of time in my repeating channels design...

PPS: Also, is there any likelyhood of a "snap to grid" feature in the drawing interface anytime soon ? I know it's a bit anal, but I really like my schematics to look neat :-)

Hello PhillipJ,

First, I am did this test using Rev 4.2

I just created a project with a board in it. In that board I created four boards. I only did some simple processing since this is just a quick test. Then I copied and pasted this main board three more times. It all looked good. I compiled it to be certain it was a good file. Then I deleted one of the main boards and all the sub boards went away, no issues.

There were a lot of bug fixes between Rev 4.1 and 4.2 so it may have been fixed. Let me know if you try this again and if you can replicate this in Rev 4.2

OK thanks Dave,

I'll try with V4.2 as you suggest.
