Are the parameters of the Limiter with Indicator correct ?
Hi,
I am using SigmaStudio 4.2 and ADAU1452 with the block "Limiter with Indicator".
It seems to work, but the values of attack and decay are delivering eratic results.
Decay seems to be inverted, means 5 dB/s ist the fastest and 23 dB/s the slowest decay time.
A comparison with the normal RMS Limiter shows the attack and decay values are giving different results.
- Does anyone know how the attack and decay time is calculated ?
- And why do the parameters have such a small range ? (decay from 5 to 23 dB/s, threshold from -24 to 24 dB)
Every help is appreciated.
Best regards
Bernd

Hello Bernd,
I am investigating...

Hello David,
Did you find some more information for this limiter block ?

Hello David and Bernd,
If the Limiter With Indicator's dynamics is similar to that of the plain Limiter, its release time input works much like that used with the slew volume controls -- see this post:

Hello Bob,
Thanks for your response. This could explain the weird time values.
An official documentation from AD would be appreciated anyway.
Best regards
Bernd
