Issues with delaylines on the ADAU1450, using sigmastudio
Hi,
One of our customers is working with the ADAU1450 and Sigmastudio 4.2, having some issues with delay lines and the initialisation:
First problem is about the delay and the size of the buffer. If we use a delay the buffer is also in the output file. Meaning we will have a big size of the flash filled with zeros for the delay. As we are running out of flash we would like to remove this and just use a for loop to init the buffer. This thread talks about the issue, but I can not really find the defines for the start address of the delay block. I also think this buffer init will only be possible on the DM0?
Second problem is also delay related. If we use too much (>60%) of the DM0 memory for the delay we get a very distorted output signal. If we perform the upload with the sigmaStudio programmer there is no issue. But if we use our MCU with I2C we have the problem. I found this very old item on the forum with the same problem. Note that we use Multi-Channel Multi-Tap delay blocks.
Could you help with this?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Rob

Hello Rob,
Can you send their project file to me directly? You can find me in the company directory. This will get a big tricky to find why loading with the MCU is a problem. The project I would like to see is the one that uses >60% of DM0.
Are they using the Indirect Parameter Access Table feature? This can be used to point to the location of the delay. The pointer will be stored in the same place every time but the memory location that it is pointing to may change when they recompile after working on the program but the MCU will know where to find it. This may be the solution for their first question. So send me the file.
