Maximum delay on ADU1466

I think I can safely say this will not be possible.

The MAX delay for the part is 1600ms at 48kHz. At 96kHz this would be 800ms. This number is only true if you are not doing much else besides delay. If you are doing other significant processing like filters, compressors and mixing then you will reduce the pool of memory available for use as a delay.

The SPI delay may be possible once the new revision of SigmaStudio is out in about a month or so. There will be a multi-channel SPI delay cell available. But this is still limiting. You have to read 4 bytes per channel times 8 channels so that is 32 bytes per sample period. Then for the SPI transaction you need to send a 24 bit address, so that is three more bytes times 8 = 24 bytes. Then the write and read message formatting to the Flash memory. So there will be a point where you cannot read the memory fast enough to get all the data in one sample period. I cannot do this full analysis right now.

I have not been able to experiment with this so I do not have data to share. Once it is out I will see about testing to determine how many channels are possible at each sample rate.

Someone else may be able to chime in who has more experience with calculating the required clock rate taking into account the delay of the flash.

Can you write me more info, how to connect SPI serial memory to use it with external delay ? SPI slave port will be used to controller communication, and master for memory. In other questions here I found that is possible to connect more SPI memories. Now I have idea to order some SPI memories and try to use with EVAL-ADAU1466Z, or create own PCB.
