Thread Summary

The user inquired about the compatibility of a distortion project for guitar effects with the ADAU1467 evaluation board. The support engineer confirmed that the project can be downloaded, compiled, and run on the ADAU1467, with a note that any obsolete algorithms can be resolved by following the instructions in the provided wiki link. The project includes a series of videos demonstrating various types of distortion and their effects on audio signals.

These videos from me shows the differences and sounds of nonlinear devices for guitar distortion in Sigma Studio from Analog Devices on a ADAU1452Eval DSP board.

It can be heard with sinewaves and played with guitar too.

You can see the spectra live too.

Cheers

I like the comparison of hard and soft clippers— also your split-screen presentation. You have that ADAU1452 board singing! And there’s plenty room left over for more effects.

Two more videos are ready :

Part 2 : Differences between symmetric and asymmetric clipping , single or multistage, can be heard with sinewaves and played with guitar too.

Part 3 : Differences between clipping with or without crossover distortion , which appear in pentode poweramps , can be heard with sinewaves and played with guitar too.

Hi Stephan

I'm just getting started with Sigma Studio, and I have the ADAU1467 evaluation board.

Do you happen to know if I will I be able to open your project and compile for my hardware?

Thanks

Jon

ps. apologies for the naive question, I am at the very beginning.

Hello MrFuzz,

Yes, You can download the project and compile and run it in your board. It will compile and run without any problem.

If you are experiencing obsolete algorithm for some blocks , that is because of SigmaStudio versions. To make it work, Just follow the wiki link that is given in the compiler output window and follow the instructions given in the wiki page.So it will get it worked.

Regards,

Harish
