Hi everyone,

I tried to build a simple project to test 1466. put two delay line on 1466.

when I try to increase left channel delay sample to 35000. compiler will display error message. DM0 / 1 have 40960.

35000 delay sample less than it. have somebody meet same problem ?

Edit Notes
Changed the part number to the correct part number, the 1466

Hello cartman,

First I would like to start by saying you have the wrong part number in the title and the name of the post. The ADAU1446 does not have this much memory and I can see enough of the compiler log to see that you are using an ADA146x part. Which one are you using? The ADAU1466?

I was able to reproduce a similar problem but I did not get the same error. I was using the ADAU1467.

I investigated the issue and there is a software bug that needs to be fixed. In my project I was getting an error that was pointing to the mutes and when I moved the delays to the very end of the project, after the mutes and at the output it worked. Your project is VERY simple so there is really not much you could do. Although I think your project file might be corrupted since I got a different error.

The basic issue has to do with a jump instruction. The jump is really large to jump around the delay memory and the instruction after the jump has a problem. I expect you have a lot of processing you need to do in the DSP so write that code then see how much memory you have left for delays and it may be small enough to avoid this problem. Keep in touch with me and I will help you try to work around this problem until we can get it fixed. I will need for you to send me your project once it is close to complete so you can send me a private message.

Hi Dave,

The DSP model should be ADAU1466. To do a very simple project on 1466, I want to Evaluate the newest DSP delay line ability. now I used 1452. in the future should be 1466. they are same compatible package, so pcb design no need change more. right?

Thanks.

Hello cartman,

Yes, the 1452 and the 1466 are pin compatible, so no change is needed on the PCB.

I will edit the post so it has the correct part number so it will not come up during searches.
