Dear Team,

I have a set of queries regarding the following:

1. The SDATAIN0 and SDATAIN1 cannot be configured at different TDM modes to receive an input for example when i try to configure SDATAIN0 in I2S and SDATAIN1 in TDM8 to receive an input from an external source i am flabbergasted with some noise ,the same does not happen when configuring both in TDM8 or I2S is there any way of configuring them in different TDM modes ?

Strange, we use ports configured differently without any problems

Hello Annihilate_123,

There is something going on. Is there a short on some pins? You 100% can have any of the four ports configured independently of the others. We have done a lot of this testing in the lab and many customers have them setup differently. So there is an explanation to what you are experiencing, we just have to figure it out.

I think the first step is to use a scope and see what is on the pins. This may yield a clue to follow.

Wait!, I just thought of something. I looked at the eval board schematic in the user guide. LRCLK_IN1 is being used as a GPIO for MP11. It is going to a hex inverter input so it should not be a problem if you are bringing in an LRCLK. It will make the LED turn on and off at the LRCLK rate but I do not think this is the issue unless it is a loading issue on the transmission line.

I do not think the Bit Clock like is going anywhere except the test point.

If you are not using the on-board codec then you will need to remove resistors R7 and R8 so the codec is not trying to drive the same port as an external device is driving.
