Comms failed
I have a board using the 1701 that works perfectly, and the microcontroller successfully uploads the software to the ADAU. No problem at all.
I'd like to improve the software, but the USBi does not seem to work at all. I have tried three of them without success.
On sigmastudio (3.13), the green light illuminates on the hardware setup, so it's seen by the PC. But I receive "comms failed" no matter what I do.
Just to test independently of my board, I connected two 2.2k resistors pulling up to 3.3V on the SDA and SCL lines on the usbi. Clicking "Link Compile Download" shows NO activity on these I2C lines.
So this is either a USBi hardware issue or a driver/software issue? How do I fix this? I'm running XP if that matters.
usbi comm error
Hello joe42,
It very well could be a driver issue but let's try to eliminate some other cause. When you look at the SCL and SDA lines, are they sitting high before you try to communicate?
If they are not then that is an issue.
Is SigmaStudio setup for the USBi set to I2C?
If it is the wrong address the USBi will only send out one byte and then wait for the ACK. So you have to set your scope to trigger off of one message so set it to single sweep to capture it. This is super easy to miss if you are not set to single sweep with the falling trigger on the SCL line. Set it up using your uC then try it using the USBi.
I will not be surprised if it is an issue with the driver.
