Algorithm development in a DSP

I am interested in learning how to program my own sound algorithms on a DSP.
This would be for educational and research purposes.
I work at a university (UNTREF, Argentina), in the career of sound engineering.
I would like to know if someone can assist me?

Thanks for your answer.
Last year I was working with the EVAL-ADAU1467Z. I used it to learn how to use Sigma-Studio.
For the past few weeks I have been using the ADAU1701 chip to build my own circuit.
If it is possible that I can program an algorithm in a DPS, I would like to start with the simplest possible DSP and with the fewest number of channels.
