Thread Summary

The user seeks accurate documentation for algorithms in the ADAU1462 DSP, particularly the linear gain and its register values. The official Wiki and internal SigmaStudio help are outdated. The support engineer confirms that the algorithms are written in assembly and the code is not public, but suggests checking EngineerZone for relevant posts and offers to answer specific questions about the algorithms.

Hello,

Can anyone point me to an accurate documentation of the algorithms implemented in ADAU1462 by SigmaStudio?

The version 4.5 simply does not have any help.

The wiki is at best completely outdated if not wrong.

I take an example : the linear gain.

The wiki page (and the help of SigmaStudio 4.4) says that the gain numerical format is 5.23.

SigmaStudio generates what seems to be 8.24 (1 bit sign, 7 bit integer, 24 bits decimal).

There is also no information about the register content.

To program a linear gain with HW slew, SigmaStudio accesses two registers:

- HWGainADAU145XAlg4Slew_mode with value 0x00000208A (always the same)

- HWGainADAU145XAlg4target with the gain in 8.24 format

Apart from looking at what SigmaSudio sends, how can I get the detail of what value has to be sent to what register?

I will control the ADAU1462 from a CPU (not with SigmaStudio itself) so I need to know exactly how to control the various algorithms of my DSP project.

Is there any way to see the code of a give algorithm (in C or whatever language it is written)?

Any support will be highly appreciated.

Hello Xavier,

The Wiki is ADI's official documentation for SigmaStudio. The internal help within SigmaStudio is no longer updated.

ADAU145x and ADAU146x algorithms are all written in assembly code. The instruction set is not public, and we can't share the code.

However, you are not alone. We are available to answer questions about these algorithms, and in many cases the answers are already posted somewhere in EngineerZone. Note that almost every post written for ADAU145x will also apply to ADAU146x processors.
