Bluetooth control ADAU1452 with MCU ESP32
Hi everyone, I want to manage my ADAU1452 MCU ESP32, which has built-in bluetooth, I began to develop applications for control on Android and ran into such a problem. From the application, commands are formed as strings and sent to ESP32. How to process these lines? how to do it better? For example, to adjust the volume, need to send the name of the module and its value, and if you are using an equalizer? there more than 2 parameters need to be transferred, what to do in this case? Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Anton_e,
This topic is all over the forum in pieces when people ask about how to control one object or another. So keep in mind that searching the forum can be helpful when you have a question. Josh recently finished up this documentation of an Arduino project so this documentation should be really helpful for you. Note that he did not mention that it is for the ADAU1452. He mentioned that he has a version working for the ADAU1467. The 1467 is pretty much the same processor but without the extra memory and a few other small details. The core is the same.

Anton_e,
I verified that the code on this Wiki page works with ADAU1452. The selections in USER_DEFINES.h include an option called DSP_SIGMA300_350, which includes ADAU145x and 146x processors.
You can write your own application code in the ESP32 to parse the strings received over Bluetooth and then call SigmaDSP code from there.
I have some experience with ESP8266 and ESP32 from my own personal projects, so if you have questions about using the code on these platforms I should be able to help out.
Joshua
Thanks!
Thanks!
Joshua, can you ask for help in writing a piece of code with line parsing for the equalizer?
Hello,
Since you are designing both the Bluetooth application and the ESP32 code there is a lot of freedom in how you might parse the strings. I still have an ESP32 at home so I can put something together.

Hello Joshua,
I've read your wiki page and it is great and very informative. Currently I am trying to experiment with an ADAU1452 eval board with your files on a teensy 4 but I am not having any luck downloading my sigma studio file. I followed your tutorial verbatim but I still can get it going. Is there anything else you changed from the files in the wiki page aside from the user defined file?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello,
Is the problem about exporting files from SigmaStudio to header files, or the Teensy code not compiling?
If the code isn't compiling can you share the errors?
Joshua
Hello Joshua,
Thank you for your quick response but I managed to get the file downloaded into the adau1452. This was an error on my side. The issue was I did not add a pull up resistor to the SS line which caused my issue.
Thank you again for the tutorial as I've been looking for this for sometime now.
Hi Joshua! can you tell me about connecting esp8266 and adau1701 to work with your library? On my 1701board Selfboot is always at a high level.I can attach the circuit diagram of my board.
This question is answered offline. The ESP8266 is now supported by the example code.
