DSP Tree Block Description + Orange Diamond Input/Output

Is there a reference for a description of the Different DSP Tree Blocks?

After looking through all the function blocks in the tree most of them make sense but implementation is not quite clear in some instances. For example the VarQ Filter1 block. Takes a green diamond digital input and has LP, HP, BP outputs that are blue and which I take mean as Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass. The cursor changes when I hover over the Orange Diamond Input which pin1: Q Input, Signal Analog which I take to mean the control of the filter is variable based on the orange input. If it is an analog input does this mean is changes based on amplitude into the orange diamond? Does this also mean that I must use GPIO Input and Output along with a T connection to send feedback to this device from an area of output? What range of input would the orange block take?
