SigmaStudio - real time to do power electronics?
Greetings!
A question on repurposing SigmaStudio and audio ICs. Is it possible to use them to, for instance, control an AC-DC power factor correction boost converter?
As an example, the ADAU1787 could be used to take several inputs, perform a DSP calculation (lowpass filters, error signals, multiplication, etc.), and then output an analog signal (which would then be converted to a PWM signal for gate driving).
Are the Analog ICs "real time", in the sense that they can:
perform the computations generated in SigmaStudio?
Do these calculations in a deterministic period? I.E. if the sampling rate is 48kHz [or a 20.8usec period], will all computations be performed within 20.8usec?
