Hi,

We are working on a project which uses ADSP-BF607BBCZ-5 previously it used BF523DSP. We were trying to estimate the power consumption of BF607DSP. We were planning to use only single Core as per our application requirement but we see as per the Power estimator sheet of BF607 the power consumption comes to be very high for 607DSP.

We were more interested in "Maximum Static Current" parameter which seems to be very high in our case where we would be operating in ambient temperature of 100C with VDDINT of 1.25V the sheet says it would be 183 mA for this temperature and at 55C it reduces to 56.4 mA. Also the calculator doesn't depict any variation when number of core increases of decreases. Can you help us know if this value needs to be considered something else for 100C with single core in operation?

In our application, we are planning to use

1. parallel interface (20 bit address and 16 bit data)

2. one UART

3. One software SPI with 8 channel Chip select

4. and around 16 GPIO

5. We wont be using USB or DDR also our application do not involve any video or audio processing

Can you help us know what shall be maximum power dissipation by 607DSP? with the power estimator tool we are getting 462.93mW

Hi,

Apologies for the delayed response.

From the shared information, we understand the ambient temperature is 100°C.

If that was the case, for VDD_INT = 1.25V and Tj= 100°C, Maximum static current=163.4mA (Refer Table 21. Static Current—IDD_DEEPSLEEP (mA) in the datasheet.) Similarly, for VDD_INT=1.25V and Tj=55°C, Maximum Static current=56.4mA. For more information, we suggest to refer the Table 21. Static Current—IDD_DEEPSLEEP (mA) in the Datasheet of ADSP-BF607 at the below link,
