I want to build a filter using selectable resistors using a selectable rotary switch to select the different frequencies , how could I calculate the different resistor values ? for example 7.5 Khz , 5Khz, using a rotary switch instead of a pot .

Thanks

Hello izhmel,

You only need to have several series resistors of equal values between IOVDD and ground and have the switch select the junctions of the resistor ladder.

Then in the DSP you setup an index selectable filter to select the correct filter. There are other ways to do it depending on the DSP you are using. So what DSP are you using?

ADAU1452 or ADAU1402 . Can you please send an example circuit ?

Thanks

Hello izhmel,

First I need to say that you should first use the 1701 until your application is complete. Then if it will fit into a 1702 then use that part. There are very few applications that will fit into that part. The MIPS are very limited.

The ADAU1701 is very different in some ways so even though the basic SigmaStudio schematic is the same, there are a few details that are different so I attached two projects.

For the ADAU1452, you have other options. This processor is a lot more powerful so it can calculate its own coefficients. So you can use the blend filter or some other options if you need a more continuous control.

You asked about a stepped choice of filter so that is what I gave to you here.
