Hi, we have a linux host processor and would like store the FW file on the linux rootfs and load into ADAU part (via ADAU SPI slave port) each boot and on-demand. (i.e not use self-boot from eeprom).

I've looked at link below and it stops short of explaining how to send the file generated by "sigmadsp_fwgen" to the actual hardware via SPI.

QUESTION1: How do we send this file to the ADAU part over SPI in linux?

QUESTION2: sigmadsp_fwgen just generates file for some other driver or process to use correct? Please provide documentation link how to use this file.

QUESTION3: Please provide Linux driver (user space) example for control of ADAU146x part.

Hi,

I suggest you have a look on the hifiberry / beocreate project using a sigmadsp with raspberry pi over spi. a lot of goodies in the GitHub repo where you can certainly find guidance for your project.

Remark, SPI is to be configured in so called MODE 3 (and not mode 1 as the USBi device ...)

good luck
