Hi!

For a new audio project I am considering the SigmaDSP suite and related products.

Currently I need some help answering these questions:

- Where can I get dev boards and prices / shipping times?

- What processing libraries (noise cancelling, echo cancelling, dynamic range compression) are availble off-the-shelf and through 3rd parties?

- How do I go from a Sigma DSP signal flow design to production code?

- What additional tooling and license do I need to go from a prototype design to production code?

- What options do Analog have to add bluetooth connectivity for data / parameters exchange and, potentially, in a later stage audio streaming?

Could you help me gather some answers?

Cheers & thanks,

Michiel

Hello Michiel,

Here's some resources which will help answer your SigmaDSP questions:

This SigmaDSP parametric selection table can help you choose according to the functions required by your application -- https://www.analog.com/en/parametricsearch/11310#/ Some chip attributes often influencing the choice include:

Selfboot

GPIOs and Aux ADCs

Built-in audio A/D and D/A converters

Low-power

Low-latency (for NC headphones)

ASRCs

Once you have narrowed down your choices you can look at eval boards:

https://www.analog.com/en/design-center/landing-pages/001/sigmadsp-evaluation-boards.html

To see what algorithm blocks are available for a given SigmaDSP chip, go ahead and download SigmaStudio. Then choose New Project from its File menu. Drag your SigmaDSP selection into the main window along with the USBi, and connect them together as shown below.

Then change to the Schematic tab and you'll see the toolbox of available blocks for the selected DSP:

To find what the algorithms do, look them up in the Toolbox Wiki.

Hopefully these links will help you get started. Once you've narrowed down your choices you'll be in good stead to ask questions specific to your application.

Best regards,

Bob

Hi! Bob.

Thanks so much for getting back.
What I'm lacking in the overview is the cross-reference: available algorithms vs available chips.

I'm currently compiling this by adding all available chips into a project and fishing the individual DSP algorithms out of the schematic component browser. However, this is cumbersome.
Ideally there would be a document or page describing the available algorithms and the chips they are available in, combined with the required resources on each of these devices.
Is such a document available already?

cheers & thanks,
Michiel
