Hi Sir,

I am test the S/PDIF input function and the input sample rate will be 48~192KHz, But if we set the sample rate above the 96KHz.

The audio will include the noise , I check with the spec from the datasheet as below shown. it only can support 96KHz sample rate from S/PDIF.

from the ADAU1452 EVB user guide , it mentioned , the S/PDIF can support 192KHz , Can you help to confirm , which one is correctly?

thanks for your help.

Hi Justin,

The ADAU1452's S/PDIF receiver supports up to 192kHz.

The reason why the EVB is limited to 96kHz is because it uses the optical implementation for both the receiver and the transmitter. TOSLINK always tops out at 96kHz.
If you use an electrical signal (Coax S/PIF) you'll be able to use sample rates up to 192kHz.

I'm pretty sure the datasheet is correct, I've never seen the ADAU1452 lock reliably to 192 kHz (AES3 in our case). Support for 192 kHz S/PDIF is actually one of the new features of the ADAU146x series. The ADAU1462-300 is a pin-compatible and software-compatible replacement for the ADAU1452 with support for 192 kHz S/PDIF and a bit more memory.
