EVAL-ADAU1467 passing signal on OUT1, but not on OUT2, OUT3 and OUT4
I have searched for this issue and have not been able to find the answer. It's probably something painfully obvious, but I can't figure it out!
With the basic program recommended by the guide, I am able to pass signal from in IN1 (Ch 32-33) to OUT1 (Ch 0-1). However, when I change the output block designation to Ch 4-5, 8-9, or 12-13 (OUT2, OUT3 and OUT4), I get no output.
What am I missing here? Is there a hardware configuration I must change to pass signal from IN1 (or IN2 for that matter) to OUT2, OUT3 and OUT4?
Thanks in advance!
Steve
Hi Steve,
To use all the IN and OUT blocks, you have configure the corresponding SDATAIN and SDATAOUT ports. Please find the attached example in which all the input and output ports configured correctly.

Lalitha,
Thank you very much for your help. Forgive the latent acknowledgement, I must not have notifications set up correctly for EngineerZone, so I just saw your response yesterday.
Okay, I think I understand regarding the SDATAIN and SDATAOUT configuration requirement. I will load your example onto my board and experiment with it.
Best regards,
Steve
Hello Steve,
Serial output port 0 is for core outputs 0-15. Serial port 1 is for core outputs 16-31, serial output port 2 is for core outputs 32-39 and port 3 is for core outputs 40-47.
So set it to channels 16 and 17 and it will be coming out on serial port 1.
This diagram in the datasheet shows this:

Dave,
Much thanks! I think I follow.
How are the serial output ports 0,1,2,3 associated with the actual physical 2-ch outputs OUT1 (Ch 0-1), OUT2 (Ch 4-5), OUT3 (Ch 8-9) and OUT4 (Ch 12-13)? I'm assuming there is hardware (DACs, OPAMPs) between them and that the association is not arbitrary? I'm also assuming this is an implementation detail for the EVAL-ADAU1467?
Best regards,
Steve
Hi Dave,
I struggled with the exact same issue (figured out by systematically playing with the hardware registers for ROUTING_MATRIX and SERIAL_PORTS (esp. the SDATA_IO tab) in SigmaStudio until I got something working and worked from there until I got all 4 + 8 channels working).
I was thrown off course for a long time because the userguide (EVAL-ADAU1467Z UG-1134) mentions on page 11:
Which is simply not true for any channels other than 0/1. I suggest to remove that sentence and either provide the full hardware register settings to configure in SigmaStudio to match the eval-board in that document (or at least point to an article).
Cheers,
Marco
