Thread Summary

The user encountered a compiler error while trying to program a DSP board using Sigma Studio v4.6 and the WONDOM ICP3 programmer. The error suggests a file access issue, but the final answer indicates that the red USB light and lack of recognition by Sigma Studio suggest a hardware issue with the third-party programmer. The user is advised to contact Sure/Wondom for support, as Analog Devices does not support third-party programmers.

Dear ADI Community,

I have installed Sigma Studio on my Laptop the first time and I wanted to program a DSP board but I get a compiler error:

There is also no "compiler_output.txt" file ..

I don't know what to do and how to fix this. I use the WONDOM ICP3 Programmer.

On my first plug-in the USB was green and I did my settings with the eeprom, and input, output, crossover stuff on schematic side. When I tried to "Link Compile Connect" I got this error.

Since then it show always the red USB, I can't get it recognized by Sigma Studio.

Any suggestions? Any fixes?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I'm no expert on SigmaStudio compiler issues, yet your error log provides a clue:

It appears that the SigmaStudio compiler has no access to write files to this directory. To fix this, try closing SigmaStudio, then right-click its icon and choose from the context menu, "Run as administrator." If that doesn't work, uninstall and re-install SigmaStudio, making sure that you're logged in as the administrator when you install it.

Since the compiler never got to write any files, I doubt that your board is causing the issue.

Best regards,

Bob

If the programmer is not lighting green on the Hardware Configuration tab, then there is an issue with your programmer. Unfortunately, we are not able to support third party programmers. Please contact Sure/Wondom.

Is the WONDOM ICP3 a third party programmer?

Yes. The one from Analog Devices is the EVAL-ADUSB2EVBZ, better know as the USBi.

Oh okay. But the thing is on my laptop at work I have the sigma studio v4.5 and it worked there. On my laptop at home I have sigma studio v4.6 and I get this compiler error. I don't really believe that it is a programmer issue.
