Saving to E2PROM

Hi,

I have bought an amplifier from 3e Audio which has ADAU1701 DSP. I have their USBi adaptor that plugs directly from the amplifier to the computer. I have made a simple circuit, following instructions carefully. The USBi , ADAU1701 and Eprom are all GREEN. I clicked ‘Link Project’ - there were no errors. When I click ‘Link Compile Download’ , it says ‘Compiled. Comms Failed’. Also, when I right click on ‘Write latest compilation to E2PROM’ the ‘Start Download’ screen comes up but it does not download. It should only take a couple of seconds.

I have tried many times but always the same problem.

Also, how is it possible to play music and alter the sound in real time in the DSP? I have connected speakers and input music to the amp but there is no sound. I think the amplifier functions cannot be used while the DSP/USBi is connected.

I am a complete beginner, but have read many documents, forums and youtube videos without finding an answer. Please help.
