Hello, i'm quite a newbie to the digital signal processing and DSPs topics and i would like to ask a couple questions about the ADAU1467 dsp.

1) I want to implement this processor in one of my project (DAC/DSP combo) and i wanted to ask if it is possible to SELFBOOT the processor via a SPI eeprom and, once the SELFBOOT operation is completed, update the parameters of the various blocks (like muxes, filters, volume controls ecc...) via I2C using a microcontroller like STM32 or similar.

2) If it isn't possible to use the processor this way, can you please explain to me how to boot the processor using the microcontroller and then update the parameters of the blocks in the program?

i know that there are some documents about that, but i can't understand how to make the micro boot the dsp.

if it helps in formulating the answer to the second question, i'm gonna use C++ to program the microcontroller.

Thanks to everyone who is gonna help :)

Yes. These parts can be either self booted or booted from the microcontroller. Once it is booted, it is possible to control the parameters on the processor regardless of how it was booted. There are separate control ports for self boot and uC control. Please see these tutorials with example code for microcontroller interfacing.

First of all, thank you for the reply.

another question that i have is what follows:

let's say that i choose to selfboot the DSP; once the operation is completed can i start sending commands via my microcontroller over I2C without including any files generated by SIGMASTUDIO, or do i have to include something?
