Hello,

We are experimenting FDSP limiter (not clipper) on ADAU1787. SIgmastudio has limiter module under Dynamic Processors folder. In tuning parameter window of FDSP limiter has ZeroX checkbox, which eliminated some unwanted low-level tone-like noise. Does anyone know how zeroX option works in FDSP limiter?

Thanks!

Hello,

Gain change on the Zero Crossing.

So the gain will only change during the zero crossing to reduce any zipper noise. The side-effect of this is that the attack may be slower if the signal has a large low frequency content. Then it may take a longer time for the signal to cross zero.

Thank you Dave!

It makes sense and we will be cautious for attack time setting.
