Hello,

for a new project I would like to record an analog signal from a microphone for a certain time and transfer this data to the microcontroller. To start a measurement I want to start the "data streming" from the microphone and then start a stimulus. The response from the microphone is then transferred to the controller as a data block for further processing, which then sends the Strem to a PC for further processing via USB. Actually a functionality like an oscilloscope, only for audio data. Since I have done several projects with the Sigma DSP in the past, I would also like to solve this problem with a Sigma DSP. Is that conceivable and if so, which derivative is suitable?

I'm looking forward to your reply.

Best regards R.Hayk

Hello R. Hayk,

This is a little tricky. The SigmaDSP will not be easy to gather up a batch of data but it will stream the data easily. So it is a matter of the microcontroller being able to read the I2S or TDM stream. So the data will always be there and streaming. Then it is a question of the triggering of the data. So you could setup some sort of GPIO output that would be the result of a test of the data in the DSP. Then your controller would just start storing the data that it is always getting once it gets the trigger. The rest of the settings would be in the controller like the buffer size etc.

This is an interesting project.
