how to write program of dsp 1701
hi erybody
i need example program
i want to write same that , i need put limiter for out port.
thank alot
Hello,
It looks like no one has answered your question -- and likely the reason why is that we don't know how the ADAU1701 DSP on this board connects to the board's inputs, outputs, and controls. Even checking out Pascal Audio's web site and downloading the flyer doesn't help much. As a result it's simply not possible to make a sample program without knowing the hardware schematic for this board. Thus, how much you can do to program the board depends on how open Pascal Audio is to customer mods.
Most likely, the board includes a self-boot E2PROM (and not a microcontroller, which would complicate things on your end). The 10-pin header circled above sure looks like it's for a USBi -- which is how you connect to a computer running SigmaStudio. With this you can re-program the board. As supplied the board's program includes compressors for both low and high frequency outputs -- these may already be set up as limiters. You can easily open their graphs and adjust as desired. To do this you would need Pascal Audio's original source code (SigmaStudio Project) which hopefully they supply to their customers.
So it really comes down to how open Pascal Audio is to customer mods. Do they provide the following to owners of their boards?
The hardware schematic diagram -- so you'll know what the chip's inputs and outputs are supposed to do.
The source code (SigmaStudio Project) -- then you could start with this and modify it to suit your needs.
Also, do you have or can get a USBi (preferably the genuine one from Analog Devices, although some less expensive third party ones exist). This is what you need to access the board's ADAU1701 and re-program the board's E2PROM. Here again, we would like to see the board's schematic to make sure that the 10-pin header is really wired for the USBi.
Sorry that's about all I can do with the publicly available info on this board.
Best regards,
Bob
