Thread Summary

The user inquired about the relationship between DSP ID and JTAG scan for multiple TS201S DSPs without cluster bus connections. The final answer clarifies that the ID0-3 pin states are not related to JTAG scanning, and multiple DSPs can be connected to a single JTAG chain with the same ID0-3 values, as long as the JTAG signal interconnections are correct and chained.

Hi,

As recommended in EE-179, while using multiple TS201S DSPs with no cluster bus connections it is recommended to use the ID as 000 for all DSPs. But the JTAG interface between those DSPs are not defined. Does DSP ID is related to JTAG scan using ADSP emulator tool ? Can multiple DSPs connected to a single JTAG chain have same DSP ID (noted that the DSPs do not share their cluster bus)? Kindly advise.

Regards,

Suresh Surya

Hi Suresh,

The state of the ID0-3 pins are not related to the JTAG scan. Multiple DSPs can connect to a single JTAG chain having same ID0-3 values, provided the JTAG signal interconnections between the processors are correct and in a chained manner
