Hi,

I'm using ADAU1452 and need to implement multiple instances of a single channel wind noise filter. I can find references to a SigmaStudio Wind Noise filter block, but it doesn't look like this is available for the 1452 DSP... :-(

Can anyone provide a functional diagram for such a filter ?

Many thanks,
Lars

Please disregard. Should have been posted in the SigmaStudio/DSP section... which it is now.

Hello Lars,

Perhaps the concept shown in Huge project to fill up a ADAU1452 and make it do something would help. This project is huge because it's intended for music -- thus stereo and covering the full frequency range. It could be pared down significantly for a voice application. I've done similar voice-range noise reduction filters for the ADAU1701.

Now that the -1452 has been out for several years, it's paradoxical that it still has fewer ready-made blocks than lesser DSPs, particularly the -144x. Sigma DSPs are programmed in assembly language specific to each hardware model, thus it's not easy to port the blocks from one DSP to another. The -1452 is unique in that it supports block processing and FFTs. Potentially this may allow for high-performance noise reduction, but presently there's no ready-made NR blocks for the -1452.

Best regards,

Bob
