joe.rogers Question

I have two ADSP-21469 SHARCs exchanging a small amount of data almost constantly (@ approximately 3KHz). The master DSP is also receives data over the UART. Something about the LINK PORT and the UART receiving data at the same time is causing the LINK PORT receive to fail. I am masking the UART interrupt during the LINK PORT transfer in an attempt to prevent the UART interrupt from executing at the same time.

NOTE: I have tried both a CORE transfer and a DMA transfer with the same results.

Anyone seen this before.

Thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe,

Can you share a simple project which replicates the issue on the EZ-Kit.

Also in your current setup, are you using Interrupts for both UART and LP? Can you try using one of the module as polling based and other as interrupt and check if the issue still remains there.

With this we can confirm if there is wrong handling of the interrupt done in the code which is causing the issue at your end.

Thanks,

Harshit

Harshit,

I do not have an EZ-Kit or the resources to build a project for you. However, I can provide you with the following test observations:

The problematic transfer occurs using the following:

1) The LP is a core transfer that occurs in the USR0 interrupt handler.

2) The UART is a core transfer handled in an interrupt handler (P13).

The LP receive transfer is interrupted by activity on the UART even if I mask the P13 interrupt (IMASK register) in the LP routine.

Moving the UART routine to a polled transfer within the same USR0 interrupt handler eliminates the issue.

I hope this is helpful.

Regards,

Joe
