Hi,

does the Sharc DSP, e.g. ADSP21489 support LIN communication on UART interface? Is there special LIN Support?

I found this in Blackfin manual:

"To help support the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) protocols, a special command causes the transmitter to queue a break command of programmable bit length into the transmit buffer. Similarly, the number of stop bits can be extended by a programmable inter-frame space."

Best regards, Bernd

Hi Bernd,

As described in EE-379: ADSP-214xx vs ADSP-SC58x/ADSP-2158x - Peripheral Considerations (Rev. 1), the UART design of the ADSP-SC58x processors is similar to that of the ADSP-BF60x and ADSP-BF70x Blackfin processors. However, differences exist when compared to older ADSP-214xx SHARC processors, one of them being specifically, LIN support.

Unlike ADSP-214xx processors, the ADSP-SC58x UART supports inter-frame gap transmission and LIN break commands.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

MKB
