EVAL-ADAU1701MINIZ not working

Hi,

I Connected Eval ADAU1701 MINI to SigmaStudio. But I do not get any sound through the kit. The green light is lit. When I hit Link Compile Download first time after startup, I get this:

but next time I try, I do not get this message, and the Capture window seems normal to me...And also a yellow LED on USB connection card get a small dip in the light intencity.

The shematics is like this, by the way..

Hello Ragnvald,

The error message will only appear once. After that it will try to communicate but will give you little feedback if it fails.

I will often read all registers after programming and if they all go back to default values then it is not communicating.

One other way is to drop into your schematic a DC source connected to a DSP Readback cell located in the DSP Functions folder. Connect the DC output to the readback input.

Then compile link download and if it is communicating then you will be able to change the DC value and read it back.

So I assume you are not able to read from the part. When I encounter this problem it is often because the part is not powered on. I would check carefully that all the power jumpers are connected on the evaluation board and that it is setup to obtain power from the USBi. This eval board does not have a jumper so check that the part has all the power supplies operating.
