Bhanuprakash_Nayak Question

Dear Analog Devices Team,

We are using ADSP-TS101SAB1Z000 in one of our design, We have made strap pin /BMS as "0" so that the system boots from EPROM/Flash immediately after reset.

In the ADSP-TS101 development platform the Flash used for booting has a JTAG connection.

We are using S29AL008J55TFI010 - ( NOR Flash 8 Megabit, Boot Sector Flash Memory) flash in our design and it doesn't have JTAG connection.

So I request your feedback for the following quires.

Is it possible to flash the boot code into the flash using Emulator through VisualDSP++ ?

Or, Do we have to use 8-Bit EPROM only to store the boot code ?

Request you to provide any document which clearly mentions the booting requirement of the ADSP-TS101.

Awaiting your reply...............

I am not sure about the TigerSHARC TS101 processor that you are asking about, but ADI does have a flash programmer driver for that S29AL008J, as that is the memory that is inside the Blackfin BF538F device. In the Blackfin and SHARC processors that I am familiar with, the flash programmer is simply an application that initializes the external interface and issues the appropriate commands to program/erase/verify the flash memory. You load it via the emulator and allow the processor to program the memory given the LDR file that you furnish in the GUI.

Dear Analog Team,

We are using Spansion S29AL016J55TFNR10, 16Mbit NOR flash for booting the ADSP-TS101.

When NOR flash is driving the data to the processor has 12.8ns of rise time, Even though the interface is asynchronous I want to know the rise and fall time requirement for the ADSP-TS101 processor asynchronous interface.

Please find the image for the SI analysis plot of the data line when NOR flash is driving.
