SigmaStudio ADAU1787 exported .dat file delay command
I exported a register only (no FDSP, no SDSP) project.
The TX .dat file has the following two entries.
A delay after applying power
0x00, 0x00, /* (6) IC 1.Power En Delay */
0x00, 0x23,
Where is this documented?
And something called parameter data which is preceded by a complete, 3 byte, command.
0xC0, 0xE1, /* (202) IC 1.PDM_ROUTE1 Register */
0x01,
0x00, 0x00, /* (203) Parameter Data */
Where is this documented?
I parse this data file with the corresponding numbytes file. numbytes.dat have them at lengths of 4 and 2 bytes respectively.
In my code I ignore them and my init works. If I see 0x0000 for a command, which both result in, I ignore.
Thanks,
Dan

Hello Dan,
In the System Clocking and Power-up section of the datasheet. In that section it describes the power up procedure and things that need to be waited for. There is a section called "Example ADC to DAC Power-Up". In there is describes 35 ms for the CM voltage to power up and stabilize. The command in the system Files you noted is this:

The Delay commands is meant for the MCU that is programming the DSP. It is not something that is transmitted to the DSP. The value after it is the amount of delay in milliseconds given as a hex number. 0x23 = 35ms.
The 0000 commands are meant for the MCU that is programming the DSP.
Perhaps this section of the Wiki help files might be helpful for you:

Dave,
I was aware not to send it, but there must be a doc that explains this means delay, so if I were to create code to parse this file directly, I would need a guide (a pdf) to know what to do.
For the second 0x00, 0x00, /* (203) Parameter Data */, that seems erroneous. Why was that inserted and how should it be interpreted. Note the space after it as well.
0xC0, 0x0D, /* (5) IC 1.CHIP_PWR */
0x17,
0x00, 0x00, /* (6) IC 1.Power En Delay */
0x00, 0x23,
0xC0, 0x0D, /* (7) IC 1.CHIP_PWR */
0x17,
AND THIS
0xC0, 0xE0, /* (201) IC 1.PDM_ROUTE0 Register */
0x00,
0xC0, 0xE1, /* (202) IC 1.PDM_ROUTE1 Register */
0x01,
0x00, 0x00, /* (203) Parameter Data */
0xC0, 0x04, /* (204) IC 1.ADC_DAC_HP_PWR */
0x3F,
Thanks,
Dan
