Can anybody here share your thoughts on how to set up the UART receiver, in DMA mode, to trigger an interrupt when the receiver DMA is full? I've attemped the code enclosed in the attachment but I have not been able to get the interrupt to trigger.

Thanks,

Loc

P.S. I'm using the ADSP 21479 eval board.

Hi Loc,

I will go through your code and get back to you.

Thanks

Hi Loc,

You have everything else fine, except you have not unmasked P14 interrupt. Though you have configured P14 for UART0 receive, you still need to unmask P14 and enable the global interrupt. Say the isr is called UARTisr, you need to enable the interrupt by calling the following interrupt dispatcher,

interrupt(SIG_P14,UARTisr);

Hope this helps,

Deepa

Hi Deepa,

Thank you for your reply. I was not clear in my early post. I do not want the core to service the interrupt (i.e. interrupt the core) therefore I masked it. I just want the interrupt get latched to IRPTL register so I can manually go in and check for it. I configured the same way for UART DMA transmit and that seem to work. It’s possible to get the UART DMA receive interrupt latched (to IRPTL register) only and not interrupt the core (i.e. mask the interrupt so the core do not service the interrupt?)

Thanks,

Loc

Hi DeepV,

Found out I was initializing the DMA tx register instead of DMA receive register. This help a bit but I still have the problem of not seeing the DMA latched the interrupt for DMA receive. The reason seem to be that the UART never received the full 6 bytes of data (size of DMA buffer) that’s why it’s not issue an interrupt.

Hi Col,

I have implemented UART DMA between the tx and rx of UART0 which interrupts once the DMA transfer is over. Please go through this and see if this helps you.

Thanks

Deepa
