TS101 Strap Mode problem
Hi buddies,
I am using TS101 in my design and now a little confused about the following two questions, could somebody give me some advice?
1, I connect CONTROLIMP0~2 with 111, I'd like to know what will happen to TS101.
2, Pins L2DIR and TMR0E are functioned as TM1 and TM2 under Strap mode, and 0 is required setting during reset, meanwhile, these two pins all have an 100 kilo-ohm pull down. Is that means these two pins can be unconnected? However, in EE-176 Table2, they are defined as "Pins that must be connected". How can I deal with them and what's the function of TM1 and TM2?
Thanks & Best regards,
Kenny
Would someone be so kind as to help me ?
Thanking you in advance for your help!
Kenny
Hi Kenny,
Sorry for the delay in getting back on this one. The control impedance pins of ADSP-TS101 let the user choose the drive strength for the address, data, control(ADC) and link port pins. If the user needs to use maximum drive strength then you can disable the control impedance option. In case you want to reduce the drive strength to a lower value, you can enable this feature and choose the drive strength needed using DS2-0 pins.
The test mode option enabled using the strap pins L2DIR and TMR0E (by setting them). But this option is reserved for the user. By default the strap pins are pulled low and the test mode is disabled. In case the application uses the strap pins for the normal functionality then stronger pull-down values need to be used to pull them low during reset.
Best Regards,
Jeyanthi
