leo738 Question

Hello,

I have a question about the 'typical circuit connection' on page 111 of the ADV7184 data sheet.

On the schematic it shows the ELPF pin (near bottom right of chip) connected to 'PVDD' via two capacitors & a resistor. I'm a bit confused as to where this PVDD is. Is it the 1.8V supply near marked 'PVDD' near to the top of the chip? I've attached a jpeg diagram illustrating my references.

Many thanks,

Owen

Owen,

connect it after the filter at the PVDD pin of the ADV7184

Many thanks for that.

I've two other questions which I hope you can help with:

1. The power supply smoothing 33uF capacitors are shown as non-polarised but I'm having difficulty sourcing such large values. Is a polarised Tantalum capacitor a suitable alternative?

2. Should the ground of the RGB signals (i.e. pin 5, 9 & 13) from the SCART connector be connected directly to the same analogue ground as the ADV7184 chip and should the fast blanking ground (pin 18) be connected to digital ground?

Thanks,

Owen
