dhordern Question

Hello,

I am working with Sharc/Blackfin ezkit's. They provide the 1835(A) codec but the board's only allow for2/4 audio inputs respectively.

I need to interface atleast 5 electret microphones (most probably I will usethe Sharc) so I think I need to get another ADC.

At this stage I don't need a DAC. Can anyone suggest a chip that is good for this purpose?

Thanks

Hi Dan,

I have some information for you finally!

There are a few choices here:

SSM2167 is a standalone mic preamp, you would need 5 of them and then drive the AC1835 directly. The other option would be to use the

ADAU1361 which has a build in mic preamp, 2 mics per chip, I2S output. You will definitely need some kind of preamp to bring the level of the mics up to the operating level of the codec/ADC.

Please feel free to let us know if you have other questions about this.

Regards,
