ADAU1467 Connects but I2C versus SPI communication, as between two existing products, has some concern/problem?
Attempting to modify an existing, working, layout for ADAU1467;
We have one design using the ADUA1467 which uses, so I am told, ISC as the communication interface for downloading and Debug, and it works correctly, showing dynamic metering etc. Just mentioning it so you know we have basic functioning of the Sigma Studio interface.
A second, newer, product is the problem, using an existing fully operational layout: uses SPI for download and I2C for debug, so I have been told. However the debug process for this newer product has a problem: download/link etc works and we can observe the layout but we do not have dynamic control and cannot observe metering etc.
I noted your comment about 100% zoom, and indeed we have the zoom set correctly.
Please let me know what might be 'wrong' with our interface to Sigma studio.
Thank you.

Hi,
According to Datasheet ADAU1463-1467.pdf page 166 "SECONDARY I2 C MASTER REGISTER 0xF5F0" This model can switch between I2C and SPI protocols, by changing register value, only one protocol can be used at time.
So, you need configure that register on your Sigma Studio project, that way, after boot, DSP will change to I2C as you like to.
NOTE *
Your board must have that pins routed, because I2C pins will not be the same as SPI pins ( Not Shared ).
Best regards
Hi Jaye,
We suggest you to use either SPI or I2C for both download and debug. It is hardly possible to use both at a same time. You can hardly switch between I2c and SPI by toggling it. However, it is electrically incompatible. For I2c you need pull up resistors but for SPI you shouldn't have them. It can't be set up physically for both.If downloading with SPI works and debug with I2c doesn't work mean, the hardware doesn't have the right component for I2c. It is happening in the same control port, So you have to pick either. So use either SPI for download and debug Or I2c for download and debug.
Both download and debug happen at the slave control port.

Harish
