EVAL-ADAU170XEBZ REV.B board PIC microcontroller fail
Dear All,
I have an ADAU170XEBZ REV.B evaluation board.
Unfortunately i made some shortcut around the USB connection part of this board and the PIC microcontroller does not work anymore. I can not connect to SigmaStudio to program the DSP chip.
I would like to change the PIC, but I can not read out the code from it.
Does anyone have the same board? It would be great help to me if someone could read out the code from a working PIC and send to me...
Thank you!
Gabor
Here you are a picture to identify this board.
Hello Gabor,
This board must be fairly old. We stopped stuffing the PIC and USB parts on this board many years ago. We now just bypass that and plug in the USBi into the connector J8. It is labeled External I2C/SPI.
The FTDI driver for the USB port on the eval board no longer works with Windows and with SigmaStudio so we stopped using it. At that point we had developed the USBi. I have a board exactly like yours in front of me here that has the PIC stuffed on the PCB but I only use it with a USBi interface. If you buy this board new today it will not have the PIC stuffed.
The PIC code will most likely be locked so nobody will be able to read it. SO I suggest you just continue to use the board with a USBi interface like I am doing.

Hello Dave,
Thank you for your fast response and your suggestion. I try to get this USBi interface.
