Wondom DSP Kernel Board APM 2 - Power Supply ?
Hello, have a maybe stupid question concerning a power supply for the APM 2 Board.
Reason, I have connected a 5 Volts power supply to the APM 2 and the unit "smoked off", means, it got hot and now if not functional any more.
Normally I use the USB C connector to power the unit, but would like to implement a different power supply to build it into a housing. So I used the two pins labelled "VIN" and "GND" on the connector where the analog ins and outs are present and it happened. I ordered two more units, but before trying it again, I would like to ask if it is the correct way to power the unit externally or if somebody maybe ha s the right solution to do so ?
These where the pins I used, top right GND/VIN:
Many thanks in advance for any support.

This is done. Tried another Wondom DSP and there it worked fine with 5 Volt on VIN as described. So made a mistake on the first one most probably.
Hello Holger,
Glad you worked it out. We do not support this board so you really need to ask Wondom about it. However, I do have experience with them. They do not respond with any meaningful information and will not supply a schematic. So I guess you get what you pay for. Note, that I have used these boards as well, they are low cost but it is difficult to do any customization without schematics. I even told them I worked for ADI and supported these SigmaDSPs and that got me nowhere.
These guys seem to be much better at support:
