Hi All

I was wondering is it possible to achive acoustic beamsteering / beamforming with loudspeaker on ADAU1452 platform.

1. Is there any official or 3rd party SigmaStudio toolbox, algorithm or design available?

2. If no such solution exists, could you please give me some advice?

Thank you very much.

I don't know of pre-built solutions, but beamsteering is mostly just applying the appropriate delay to each channel, proportional to speaker position and sine of steer angle. Just use the delay blocks, and if you want to be more precise, the fractional delay blocks or a higher sample rate.

Hello BruceHsu,

We don't really have a tool for beamforming with loudspeakers. Typically you need an FIR filter per loudspeaker per beam and the DSP is capable of doing FIR blocks up to some limited numbers but you didn't say how many loudspeakers that you are gonna use and beams and bandwidth as well. The ADAU1452 is capable of doing all the signal processing associated with that. So with that details we may help you with DSP part associated with it.
