ADAU1452 connect with other device in another board
Hi,
I have a hardware problem now.
I use ADAU1452 to receive datas from ADC in another board, ADC refer clocks and datas. The ADC board and 1452 board connect through a FPC line.
All the system can work at most time, however I find that when I touch the connect line, 1452 will easily work wrong, all the audio become noise.
When it become wrong, I touch it continue, and it may sometimes return to normal.
My question is how to prevent the disturb outside which cause 1452 wrong?
If touching the cable causes failure there's a big signal integrity problem. My best guess is that there's no good local ground reference for critical, high speed signals. Best practice is to alternate signal and ground for these conductors. But you could have a hardware problem elsewhere.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm not clear what is to alternate signal and ground for these conductors.
I already make a ground line between any two signal lines each other.
Every signal line has a ground line next to it already? Usually people just use one ground line, and it causes problems. I'm glad you're doing this.
I'm surprised you are having issues, there must be a more subtle hardware problem or a bad cable/connector. The 145x series allows adjustment of the drive signal strength, which you can try changing. But you should also examine what the difference is between the digital waveforms that are working vs. those that aren't.
Hello Foster,
Could you please attach a picture of your whole setup. We need to see how long the cable/line is. Please also tell us about what sample rate you are using and the audio format whether its TDM16/8/4 or I2S.
Where is your master clock coming from?
This could help us to know what's happening.
Regards,
Harish
Hi
I agree this is signal integrity problem, however we have no method to make it better.
Finally we solved the problem by putting the ADC and 1452 together in one board.
Thanks anyway.
