ADAU1467 I2S IN/OUT (ASRC)
Hi All,
Coming from ADAU1701, I need more channels and want to not use any internal ADC/DAC.
I'm builbing a 4.1 audio amplifier.
3 inputs are needed:
-Bluetooth
-Stream Spotify from ESP32
-Analog IN
So, all will be in I2S.
What I will have in hands in a couples of days:
-1x ADAU1467 board
-1x ESP32 board
-3x DAC: ES9018K2M : https://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/dac-diy/audiophonics-dac-sabre-es9018k2m-i2s-spdif-vers-rca-32bit-384khz-dsd256-p-15975.html
-1x ADC: WM8782: https://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/appareils-hifi-adc-audio/adc-convertisseur-analogique-numerique-wm8782-i2s-24bit-192khz-p-13351.html
-1x Bluetooth: CSR8675: https://www.audiophonics.fr/fr/modules-bluetooth-reception-sans-fil/module-recepteur-bluetooth-50-csr8675-aptx-hd-vers-i2s-p-14184.html
New to I2S and ADAU1467, may you please guide me setting the I2S Bluetooth (CSR8675).
As the two other input can be set in Slave mode, I think I will not have much problem.
The CSR8675 doesn't share a MCK, so I guess that I will have to use an internal ASRC ?
In my Google Drive sared folder, you can see a drawing of my setting and the SigmaStudio file that I try to anticipate.

May you please check if I'm right about the ASRC settings ?
Thank you in advance, as it's my first try on ADAU1467, I'll have other questions !
Regards.

Hello JKF,
Your project configs seem good. Here are few things to correct. You intend to run your project at 192KHZ right?. So then the setting for N/M should be 2/3. It only gives you 192KHZ. Please refer the attached picture. The start pulse should be the Base fs. When you set the CG to 2/3 then you base fs is 192KHZ.
The same applies for all the ASRCs. Set that as a base fs. So everything will be in sync.
It's bit confusing that in your project you are bringing all the three sources into the ASRC but in your attached block diagram it shows only the Bluetooth module source is going through the ASRC. Anyway it's not a big problem. For ADC and ESP32 it is not necessary to go through the ASRC. It is slaved by the DSP.
The AUXADC's output has to be left shifted by 14 bits. AUXADC outputs a 10 bit number as default.
The SDATAIO pin won't be giving any clock signal. It is a data pin specially made for TDM compatibility. So you can use MCLK OUT pin to slave the ESP32 and the ADC. The DSP should also be the master for BCLK and LRCLK of these sources.
I hope I have covered everything.
Kindly do reply if you need anything.
Regards,
Harish
Hi Harish,
I just received the DSP board, I'll be able to do tests this week.
You right, it's strange to see all sources go through ASRC, it's a mistake from me in the SigmaStudio file.
Thank you A LOT to help me to learn.
I'll come back soon.
Regards.
Hi Harish,
Update:
I have received the ADAU1467 board, it own a 12.288MHz crystal.
I have a ES9018K2M DAC.
The ESP32 became a Raspberry Pi 3.
To start, I have test connexions between the RASPI and the DAC.
It work well using BCLK, LRCK, DATA, GND.
The RASPI is set at 320Khz/24bit.
Now I have to "insert" the ADAU1467.
Input: BCLKi0, LRCKi0, DATAi0, GND (tested with i1 too)
Output: BCLKo0, LRCKo0, DATAo0, GND (tested with o1 too)
Should I have to set the MCLK OUT to 12.288MHz for 48KHz ?
Tested with no luck...
I only get "digital sound noise" on the DAC output, noise start when I Play song and stop on Pause.
I guess I have problem with clock's...
May you have a look ?
I made a light version to focus on clock's and input's/output's.

Setup goal summary:
Bluetooth: CSR8675->(BCLK/LRCK/DATA up to 320khz/24bit)->ASRC(192KHz/24bit)->DSP
Spotify: Raspberry->(BCLK/LRCK/DATA 320KHz/24bit)->ASRC(192KHz/24bit)->DSP
Line IN: ADC->(BCLK/LRCK/DATA 192KHz/24bit)->ASRC(192KHz/24bit (useless but easier if I change the ADC))->DSP
DSP->(BCLK/LRCK/DATA 192KHz/24bit)->3x ES9018K2M DAC
Thank you.
EDIT !!!!
It work, it was coming from clock settings.
Hi JFK
I'm doing almost the same project.
Driving 2 speakers with 3 ways crossover.
I2s input are Pi 4 + bluetooth qcc5125 24bits 192khz pcb.
I2s ouput to 3x DACs ES9018K2M
Could you upload you latest project file ?
It would help a lot ! Thanks !
