I'm still new to sigmastudio and have decided on the ADAU1452 and AD1938 codec. I wanted the Shark first, but they said it couldn't be programmed graphically, only in c

I need 2 inputs for a measurement microphone to monitor and intervene in the sound level. A microphone is for the vocals.

I need the 8 outputs for a 3-way stereo output (crossover) and 2 of them for a main output.

I tried to use the 3-way outputs via mixer and other filters and shifters to control LEDs. This works, but sometimes the signal is inverted for no reason, the led lights up when muted and goes out when there is a signal. After hours of despair I didn't come up with a solution, even inverting doesn't help. Finally, an Arduino will process these signals for a light control. I would be very grateful for a useful solution!

The reverb basically works but sounds very cheap. How can I create professional reverb and some chorus, gate, low and high pass filters?

Last but not least, the most important thing: Total control over the microphone! I definitely don't want any feedback between the speaker and microphone! I just don't know how to achieve that. Via an equalizer that takes back the band that is currently interacting or via the addition of output and input via a filter?

Hope the ADAU1452 will show enough resources for all that!

Hello AleksL,

What you are expecting is not quite possible with this processor. It would be very difficult to bring out those professional reverb stuffs. You should have to go with SHARC for designing a processing algorithm as you want which obviously involves C.

Harish

Hello Harish

Gruss

Aleks

Hello Harish
Why do you think that the ADAU1452 is not the right approach?
Does it have too little RAM or is it too slow?
I have already implemented some things according to my wishes...
But I'm looking for algorithms for a good reverb and a 100% reliable suppression of the feedback between microphone and speaker.
Trying out and getting to know the individual elements in SigmaStudio is tedious and it is not easy to find the right way, but learning to write all the necessary algorhytms in C is surely madness!
What then for the sharc?
I have seen that you can program it with SigmaStudio?

Greetings

Aleks

Hello,

The best reverbs convolve the input with the impulse response of the modeled reverberant space. This requires a FIR filter of immense length, for which a -1452 both lacks memory and is too slow. As for auto feedback elimination, I've seen the insides of a unit that performs this function (but not reverb) and it has two SHARCS and a Blackfin -- suggesting the sort of power you need. Unfortunately, I'm not an expert on the higher-end stuff so cannot help further.

Best regards,

Bob
