In my design I want to be able to directly program a SPI EEPROM (connected to ADAU1467) using a HEX file with ADUSB2EBZ programmer. According to your advice that I found earlier In the EngineZone (https://ez.analog.com/audio/f/q-a/542431/adau1467-seflboot-eeprom-programming): the EEPROM SPI port is connected both to the DSP SPI master_port and to the first USBi connector, the second USBi connector is connected to the slave_port of the DSP and when there are read/write operations to the EEPROM through the first USBi connector the DSP is held in reset. I have two issues:

According to your notes after link/compile/download an HEX file should be generated inside the project subfolder, but instead I find a program.bin file and program.dat file.

I do not have problem to program the EEPROM through the DSP (second USBi connector), but when I am trying to read the EEPROM content through the "Read E2Prom to display" in the Read/Write window (first USBi connector) I read only 0xFF. According to the scope during the read operation the SCLK/ MOSI/CS of the EE2PROM are active but the MISO is not active.

Hello dododag,

Sorry for the delay.

Are you using our eval board? Or You have your own modified hardware as mentioned in the above post?

Is there any controller involved in your project?

Because few methods were explained in the above post which requires hardware modification or with controllers in your project. So, knowing your hardware would be helpful to comment on this. I guess you are using our eval board without any modification. Is that right?

Do you want your entire program, parameter, control registers data in hex format with address?

Thanks for your response. I am using my own hardware with ADAU1467, 25AA1024 EEPROM and two USBi connectors. In the previous attached link, I am referring to the following method: "Some customers have setup a port (connector) to directly connect to the _master port and hence the EEPROM. The important thing with doing this is that the DSP needs to be held in reset if they are using SPI and if it is I2C then be certain the DSP is not trying to communicate out onto the _master port". Regarding the HEX file, I would like to be able to program the EEPROM with the generated HEX file using the ADUSB2EBZ programmer through the Read/Write window (SigmaStudio Hardware configuration), so after power up the DSP will boot from the EEPROM. I hope my answers are clear.
