Using an external Audio Codec (cs42448) with ADAU1452

I have attached a basic project and block diagram for your reference. I'm just considering that your system is running at 48KHz. So, I have set up everything for 48KHz and I also assume six stereos coming in and going out.

Serial port: In ADAU1452, there are four serial input ports and four serial output ports available. Each serial ports only allows a single stereo. So, for both input and output side we have to use 3 serial ports for 3 stereos - 6 channels.

It's better to use DSP as a master for BCLK and LRCLK for all the ports and DSP is also sending the master clock (MCLK) that is 12.288MHz. I have also mentioned the pin numbers in the block diagram. Please refer that.

You don't need to change anything in the clock register and serial ports page. Let it be as default as we required.

For the MCLK to the CODEC, here the DSP is putting out 12.288MHz in the CLKOUT pin that is 256*fs and also refer your codec datasheet for the incoming frequency needed and the PLL sections and other configs.

This is a basic overview if you want to know more about serial port clock slaving and running at other sample rates etc. then we will see further.

Hi tried the program which was provided as solution to work with the adau1452 - CS42448 combo. The program can be download correctly by i dont get any output.

I dont know how I have to work with the debug function which is included
