Hello,

I'm working with an EVAL-ADAU1787Z evaluation board in SigmaStudio 4.7. So far I've been using the SigmaDSP to do my signal processing. I now want to move the biquad filtering in my signal chain to the FastDSP. Setting up the actual filters and IO in the FastDSP is simple enough, however I'm running into a few problems.

My filters are set up in a couple of Parametric EQ blocks (as far as I can tell, the only filters available for the fastDSP). The coefficients for the filters will be calculated externally and I would like to load them into the filter blocks. So far, the only way I have found to do this is using a IIR coefficient filter and loading the coefficients from a .txt file. However, this requires me to still click "load" and select a file every time I want to load new coefficients and (more importantly) this has to be done for every biquad separately. My gut feeling says there should be a less cumbersome method to achieve this, since if I understand correctly, all coefficients for a certain parameter bank are stored in a certain piece of the memory. However, I can't find a way of writing to this memory from SigmaStudio. Am I missing something here?

Hi Thijs,

There is a way to write to the memory using Sigma Studio with the help of sequence window.

You can follow the link to know how to use the sequence window.
wiki.analog.com/.../workspacewindows

You can add multiple modes (by right clicking on the MODE 0 button) to this window if you have separate .txt file for all the banks or you can combine everything to one file and just use a single mode.

I hope this helps.

Hi Toshita,

Thank you for your reply, it was a big help. I do still have a related question. I would like to update certain parameters in the FastDSP (filter coefficients and/or gain values) from the SigmaDSP.In other words, I would like to update fastDSP parameter values by writing to them from the SigmaDSP.

By looking at the hardware documentation, it seems like this should be possible, but I can't figure out how to do this using SigmaStudio. Do you know how I could do this?

Kind regards,
