VKastr800 Question

Hello, I'm just starting to learn DSP, I'm making a bluetooth speaker.
Please help me understand the difference between Loudness and Dynamic loudness.
In my understanding, Loudness itself dynamically changes depending on the position of the volume potentiometer.
Unfortunately, I did not find in the wiki examples of the implementation of the Loudness module along with the volume potentiometer.
I found on your forum and used several examples of dynamic Loudness, they work but they have a delay.
Please tell me the most simple implementation of the Loudness function, not in terms of using instructions, but in terms of ease of writing a project.

Is it possible to control the Loudness function with the same potentiometer that I control the volume?,

in other words, use a standard Loudness module that reacts to a change in the resistance of the volume potentiometer?

I apologize in advance, I may be wrong and not understand how this function works.

Thank you!

Hello VKastr800,

You have found some other ways to do this on the forum. Some of them I recognize who did the work.

Here is a link to the Wiki help files: Dynamic Enhancement [Analog Devices Wiki]

This DSP does not have the ability to control its own parameters so it makes it a little more difficult to control some functions.

What are you trying to control? The threshold? The amount of the gain?

This block should work fairly well just kept in one setting since its function is to boost more or less depending on the level of the signals. So where you put this will be important. You need to put this after your volume control so it can react to boost the bass when the volume is low and to not boost when the volume is higher. You should not need to control it.

If it is the threshold you need to control you could just raise or lower the volume going into and out of it to make the level in the block different. So boost on the way in and reduce on the way out. Or the opposite. But you really should not have to resort to this.

You may want to put in a bypass by using a switch connected to a GPIO but I do not know if that is easy to do with your hardware.
